A TV director and a former Olympic skater have teamed to open a 15,000-square-foot shared work space in Stamford called Workpoint.
Workpoint is at 290 Harbor Drive in a newly renovated 5-story, 185,000-square-foot office building within the 17.9-acre Shippan Landing waterfront office park. Shippan Landing is a 780,000-square-foot office complex on 17.9 acres overlooking the harbor that is owned and managed by George Comfort & Sons Inc.
The bi-level space faces Long Island Sound and boasts open spaces and glass floor-to-ceiling windows. Amenities include furnishings and a revolving collection of artwork from local talent.
The principals are TV director Jeffrey Kay and his partner Lea Ann Miller, a 1984 Sarajevo Olympics figure skater who is now an event planner.
Workpoint is billed as “a multifaceted workplace, event venue and media facility with state-of-the-art equipment, wide-ranging capabilities and a variety of on-site amenities.”
Its offices are described as private, furnished and possessing HDTV.
The site includes a 1,000-square-foot multi-camera studio with green screen, control room and editing facilities.
“Video is now an established component of modern business communication and we want to offer content producers top rate facilities with global connectivity via both web and broadcast,” said Kay.
Besides video production, the studio is designed for photo shoots, video conferencing, webcasts and satellite media tours.
Other Workpoint features include an outdoor patio, kitchen, mail-print-copy center, 24/7 access, cafeteria, gym, free parking and a shuttle to the Metro-North train station.
A speaker/networking series of events is planned.
