J.E.T. Corp., a Bridgeport manufacturer of nonferrous sand castings, has paid $1,237,500 for an industrial property at 146 Davis Ave. in Bridgeport.
The 17,088-square-foot building on 1.72 acres was owned by Black Rock LLC and occupied by the Black Rock Fireproof Column Co., a manufacturer of fireproof structural columns that are also known as Bridgeport Columns. In 2016, the company moved to East Hartford when it was acquired by United Steel Inc. It has retained its name and continues to operate as its own division.
The building at 146 Davis includes four drive-in doors and a ceiling height of 17 feet.
“We have been working hard this past year to improve our business and customer service,” said Jose L. Tamayo, owner of J.E.T. Corp, which is located on Holland Avenue in the city. “In addition to the purchase of a new building, we have hired a maintenance team, added administrative support and upgraded our software system.”
Jon Angel, president of Southport realtor Angel Commercial LLC, was the sole broker in the transaction.
