GREENWICH – Greenwich Hospital’s Center for Hyperbaric Medicine and Wound Healing has received accreditation with distinction from the Undersea & Hyperbaric Medical Society (UHMS).
This marks the first time the hospital has achieved this highest level of recognition from UHMS, the global leader in advancing the science, technology, safety and clinical practice of undersea and hyperbaric medicine. The accreditation reflects the center’s exceptional commitment to patient care, safety and clinical excellence.
Accreditation with distinction is awarded to hyperbaric facilities that not only meet rigorous UHMS standards but exceed them, demonstrating exceptional clinical outcomes, advanced protocols and dedication to quality improvement. Achieving this milestone signifies that Greenwich Hospital’s Center for Hyperbaric Medicine and Wound Healing operates at the forefront of hyperbaric care nationally.
“Receiving accreditation with distinction is a tremendous honor,” said Bob Blenderman, PA, president, Greenwich Hospital of Yale New Haven Health. “This achievement recognizes the hard work, dedication and expertise of our entire team, who go above and beyond every day to provide safe, high-quality care for our patients. We are proud to set a new standard in hyperbaric and wound care.”
The Center for Hyperbaric Medicine and Wound Healing provides advanced hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) and wound care services for patients with chronic, non-healing wounds, diabetic ulcers, radiation injuries and other complex conditions. Hyperbaric therapy involves delivering 100% oxygen in a pressurized chamber, promoting healing, reducing infection and improving tissue repair.
This recognition reinforces Greenwich Hospital’s commitment to excellence in patient care and its position as a leader in innovative, specialized treatment options for complex wound and hyperbaric care needs.
