Stamford-based Frontier Communications Corp. hosted a ribbon-cutting and open house recently to mark the opening of its Frontier retail store in Norwalk.

The 2 Washington St. store will handle customer service and billing inquiries, and provide access to the company’s products and other services. The store is open Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Members of the Greater Norwalk Chamber of Commerce joined guests and Frontier Communications leaders at the opening.

“Frontier is excited to offer a convenient, comfortable location for customers to meet with us in person and get to know our company, as well as our products and services,” said Don Banowetz, Frontier’s area general manager for the Fairfield region, in a statement. “Our new Norwalk retail store will give both residential and business customers in the area the chance to learn more about us and how we can meet all their communications needs. We’re happy to be in Norwalk and to have the opportunity to demonstrate our commitment to great customer service.”

Publicly traded Frontier offers, in its words,  “broadband, voice, satellite video, wireless Internet data access, data security solutions, bundled offerings and specialized bundles for residential customers, small businesses and home offices and advanced communications for medium and large businesses in 28 states.” It employs a total 17,000 workers in the U.S.
