Five Norwalk nonprofits have been awarded grants totaling more than $1 million as part of the state”™s nonprofit grant program.
Recipients include Elder House, Inc. ”“ $25,400 for information technology upgrades and improvements; Family & Children”™s Agency ”“ $207,938 for information technology upgrades and improvements; Mid-Fairfield AIDS Project, Inc. ”“ $52,000 for renovations at Moore Place, an intensive support services housing program; Mid-Fairfield Child Guidance Center, Inc. ”“ a combined $206,660, including $64,160 for emergency medical records management and $142,500 for vehicle replacement; and Star Inc. ”“ a combined $552,100, including $342,600 for 14 vehicles and $209,500 for improvements to the facility”™s sprinkler system.
State Sen. Bob Duff, D-Norwalk, made the announcement.
“Norwalk”™s many nonprofit organizations make immeasurable contributions to our community by improving the lives of thousands of people on a daily basis,” Duff said. “They deserve our strong support for all the good they do, and so I am proud to announce these awards from the state ”“ a helping hand as they continue their work. I thank Gov. Malloy for his support of this grant program and these organizations.”
