Daphne Dixon of Fairfield, a client of the Fairfield University Accelerator and Mentoring Enterprise, or FAME, recently held an event at the business incubator to celebrate the mission of Live Green Connecticut!, a nonprofit she co-founded to promote eco-friendly living.
Dixon runs two businesses, Live Green Connecticut! and a local-national meeting, marketing and expo business called Conscious decisions.
An effort to nurture startups and foster economic development, FAME is a collaboration of Fairfield University”™s Charles F. Dolan School of Business, the town of Fairfield economic development department and Fairfield-based Kleban Properties. FAME”™s stated mission is to offer innovators tools ”“ from guidance to funding and downtown office space above the Fairfield University bookstore ”” to turn their ideas into realities.
Dixon was one of three original participants in the FAME program. The others were entrepreneurs Juliano Peranick and Jamie Ramerini.
