FAIRFIELD – The owners of Fairfield Local Craft Kitchen & Bar have decided to close the Sportsplex restaurant at 85 Mill Plain Road after 12 years in business, according to a message on the restaurant’s website.
Its Norwalk restaurant at 68 Washington St. will remain open.
In a pop-up message on the Local website, SBC Restaurant and Beer Bar wrote the following:
“Thank you for 12 wonderful years: We are incredibly grateful for the love and support our community has shown us over the years at Local Craft Kitchen & Bar.
It’s been an honor serving you, sharing meals, and creating memories together. Thank you for being part of our journey – we couldn’t have done it without you.”
The property is owned by 85 Pond Mill LLC c/o Fischell Properties, 501 Kings Highway E., Fairfield.
The message also mentions that all Fairfield Local gift cards can be redeemed at the sister restaurant, SBC Restaurant & Beer Bar in Milford.
The parent company also operates The Sitting Duck Tavern in Stratford, Trumbull and Oxford. Those restaurants remain open.
