Statoil subleases space from Gen Re
Statoil is relocating its Stamford marketing and trading office from 1055 Washington Blvd. to 120 Long Ridge Road, where it is subleasing 56,000 square feet of space from General Reinsurance Corp.
Norway-based Statoil develops oil and gas fields in the Gulf of Mexico, and also has offices in Houston and Washington, D.C. The Stamford office employs about 130 people, who at last report delivered about 600,000 barrels of petroleum products into the North American market daily.
Crunch Fitness debuts in Norwalk
Crunch Health Fitness became the first tenant at 770 Connecticut Ave. in Norwalk, opening a 21,000-square-foot fitness center as its first location in Fairfield County.
Crunch Fitness plans to open additional centers in Fairfield County and Westchester County, N.Y., according to Michael Muffoletto, a principal in The Brocor Group who represented both the tenant and the landlord in the lease transaction.
Omnicom opens Greenwich office
The Marketing Arm unit of Omnicom Group Inc. is opening an office at One East Weaver St. in Greenwich, where it plans to employ at least 20 people.
The Marketing Arm, which topped Promo magazine”™s list of the most creative agencies for 2010, employs more than 400 people in offices in Dallas where it is based, New York City and several other locations.
Urstadt Biddle buys out Ridgeway partners
For $7.4 million, Urstadt Biddle Properties Inc. bought the outstanding limited partner interests in the entity that owns The Ridgeway Shopping Center in Stamford, with UBP now controlling 100 percent of property.
Ridgeway Shopping Center tenants include Stop & Shop, Bed Bath & Beyond, Marshall”™s and Staples, among others. At 371,000 square feet, the shopping center is the largest owned by Greenwich-based UBP, which has more than 15 million square feet of retail and office space in the tristate area.
JPC buys Monroe building
For $850,000, JPC Enterprises bought an industrial property at 127 Enterprise Drive in Monroe, a 6,000-square-foot building on 3 acres that it plans to occupy. Westport-based Vidal/Wettenstein represented JPC.
