Habermann promoted at Webster Bank
Webster Bank announced the promotion of John Habermann to senior vice president market manager, community banking. Habermann joined Waterbury-based Webster in 2013 as vice president, market manager for Westchester County, N.Y., and for lower Fairfield County. He later added the Danbury region to his list of responsibilities. He has more than 30 years of banking experience. Habermann is based in Webster”™s White Plains, N.Y., office.
Summer exhibit to feature Findlay
A new exhibit of watercolors by artist and New Canaan resident Mimi Adams Findlay opened June 18, at the Lockwood-Mathews Mansion Museumin Norwalk. The exhibit runs through Oct. 31.
Findlay studied watercolor painting and is a member of the board of trustees of the Lockwood-Mathews Mansion Museum. Other affiliations include the Connecticut Trust for Historic Preservation, The Victorian Society in America and Connecticut Preservation Action. She served on the New Canaan Planning and Zoning Commission for nine years from 1979-1988, and founded the New Canaan Preservation Alliance Inc. seven years ago. She serves on the vetting committee of the annual Winter Antiques Show in the Park Avenue Armory in New York City.
Silver Hill Hospital announces board officers
Founded in 1931 in New Canaan, Silver Hill Hospital treats more than 3,000 adolescent and adult patients each year for psychiatric and behavioral disorders such as bipolar disorder, disordered eating, schizophrenia, chronic pain when coupled with addiction and substance abuse.
The 22-member board represents both Westchester, N.Y., and Fairfield counties.
Co-chairpersons are Ward Cleary of Darien and Deann Murphy of New Rochelle, N.Y. Sperry DeCew of New Canaan is secretary and Peter Orthwein of Greenwich is treasurer.
STAR’s programs benefit from bank’s grant
First County Bank in Norwalk, awarded STAR Inc., Lighting the Way a $5,000 grant to enhance three programs for young children with developmental delays and autism.
STAR Inc., Lighting the Way is a regional not-for-profit serving individuals of all ages who have intellectual and developmental disabilities as well as providing support services to their families.
First County homebuyers workshop
First County Bank offered the second seminar in a series of homebuyers workshops May 20 at the First County Bank branch on High Ridge Road, Stamford. Open to the community, the workshop provided homebuyers access to professionals versed in the home-purchase process: A real estate agent, a home inspector, an attorney and the bank”™s mortgage loan experts were available to answer questions and provide guidance.
