Waterbury-based Webster Bank won three awards at the U.S. Small Business Administration annual lenders and partners meeting Oct. 29 in Hartford. Webster was awarded “top 7a lender,” “top 504 third party lender” and “top total loan volume.”
Natura Wines partners with Keep Norwalk Beautiful
Natura Wines, produced by Emiliana Organic Vineyards of Chile, and Keep Norwalk Beautiful are partnering on the development of a natural planting garden at Norwalk”™s Oyster Shell Park. A partnership between Natura and national nonprofit Keep America Beautiful includes a grant for this project.

Timeless Gallery, a luxury boutique specializing in the buying and selling of pre-owned designer handbags and vintage watches, opened shop at 112 Mason St., Greenwich. Crosland joins Sotheby”™s
Molly Crosland, former NBC and CNN producer and writer of network television news, joined William Pitt Sotheby”™s International Realty as a sales agent based in the firm”™s Darien brokerage.
Crosland is a recipient of the Peabody Award for CNN coverage of Hurricane Katrina. She has also been involved with several Emmy Award-winning shows during her tenure at NBC.
Attorneys read to Bridgeport classes
Two attorneys from Berchem, Moses & Devlin PC, a law firm with offices in Milford, Westport and Norwalk, partook in the Bridgeport public school system”™s “Read Aloud Day 2014,” Oct. 23. Rebecca Goldberg and Christopher J. Sugar, both associates with the firm”™s Milford office, read to students in Hallen School.
Goldberg and Sugar were among 600 volunteers who read to every prekindergarten through sixth-grade classes. The event, which is organized by the School Volunteer Association of Bridgeport, draws volunteers from the greater Bridgeport region.

Urgent care center welcomes Forno
Stamford-based Doctors Express Urgent Care appointed Francis J. Forno Jr. as a full-time physician. Prior to joining, Forno ran his own family practice office in Newtown and simultaneously cared for patients at three local nursing homes, holding the position of medical director at River Glen Nursing Home and Watermark at East Hill Health Center in Southbury.
Sacred Heart students excel at NY College Challenge
On Halloween, five students in the Department of Economics and Finance at Bridgeport-based Sacred Heart University traded in their costumes for business suits to represent the John F. Welch College of Business in the New York College Fed Challenge. Participants included Kyle Czarnecki, Scott Gaffney, Elias Gharios, Ken Arnold and George Ferris.
The Fed Challenge is a competition among universities nationwide that requires teams to execute a presentation in front of New York Federal Reserve Bank employees.
Gallagher honored by Franciscan Friars
Thomas L. Gallagher of Greenwich received The Graymoor Community Service Award for his support of Catholic charities and organizations from the Franciscan Friars of the Atonement. The Graymoor center is in Garrison, N.Y.
Gallagher serves as executive chairman for a social media brand company in New York City. For more than two years, he worked on a pro bono basis for Mother Teresa”™s religious order, the Missionaries of Charity and the office of the Postulation for the Cause of Sainthood of Blessed Mother Teresa. He also helped to create and administer the Mother Teresa of Calcutta Center Inc., a New York state nonprofit.
