Yale seeks new development chief
Months after completing the “Yale Tomorrow” fundraising campaign, Inge Reichenbach plans to step down next year as Yale University”™s vice president of development.
Reichenbach joined Yale in 2005 from Cornell University and in five years spearheaded the school”™s efforts as it raised $3.9 billion. Yale said it would conduct an international search for her successor.
Among other results of the Yale Tomorrow drive led by Reichenbach, the school added $225 million to its financial aid endowment and created nearly 70 endowed faculty positions. The campaign also supported construction of 18 buildings, including the Bass Library, Smilow Cancer Hospital, and Evans Hall, a new facility for the Yale School of Management; as well as the renovation of 18 existing buildings including the Yale Bowl.
Yale”™s endowment increased 21.9 percent for the 2011 fiscal year ending last June to $19.4 billion.
Sacred Heart hires SCSU fundraiser
Sacred Heart University hired Megan Rock as vice president of university advancement, overseeing the Fairfield school”™s development and alumni-relations offices.
Rock will lead all fundraising activities for Sacred Heart from both private and public sources.
Previously, Rock was vice president for institutional advancement for Southern Connecticut State University. She holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Maryland.
Stamford attorney to lead development at NCC
Cathy Bromberg is the new director of development for the Norwalk Community College Foundation Inc.
The Stamford resident is formerly an attorney with Shipman & Goodwin and also has been general counsel of a Greenwich hedge fund NCC did not specify by name. Bromberg holds an undergraduate degree from Baylor University and a law degree from the University of Chicago.
