Duracell batteries in Bethel is continuing its child safety message campaign with the National center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC), adding a new children”™s book ”“ The Great Tomato Adventure ”“ and three safety guides for parents and guardians of older children.
Duracell and NCMEC said the safety books were created because some child safety messaging is outdated. The two free safety resources are an extension of the Power of Parents child safety program launched last year to help parents prepare, protect and empower their children. They are available online at www.powerofparentsonline.com.
The Web site also contains a variety of safety tools for families, including a free downloadable child photo ID guide, seasonal safety tips and a six-month photo ID reminder ”“ the timeframe recommended for updating a child”™s photo for safety purposes.
Duracell said the book and guides are available for the spring and summer seasons, when 66 percent of non-family and 50 percent of family child abductions take place.
Duracell, part of the Procter & Gamble Company, is the world”™s leading manufacturer of alkaline batteries, and also sells other types of batteries, chargers and flashlights. Its world headquarters are in the Berkshire Corporate Park in Bethel.
