Connecticut’s work-related deaths on the rise

Connecticut lost 44 lives due to work-related injuries in 2015, the highest number of such fatalities since 2010, according to a new report from the state”™s Department of Labor and the Department of Economic and Community Development.

Thirty-three states recorded more work-related deaths than the Nutmeg State in 2015, with Texas leading the way with 527; New York was fourth, with 236. Connecticut”™s work injury fatality rate stands at 2.6 per 100,000 full-time equivalent workers; North Dakota led that list at 12.5, while New York posted a rate of 2.7.
