Tad Diesel, who for the last seven years has served as Norwalk”™s director of marketing and business development and who retires to Florida with the turn of the calendar page, received a robust salute from 250 Greater Norwalk Chamber of Commerce members and officials Dec.19 at Dolce, the corporate conference, meetings and social gatherings center on 66 acres on Weed Avenue in Stamford. The chamber piggybacked a brief awards ceremony for Diesel with its 2013 Holiday Reception, a cocktail networking event and sit-down dinner. The evening capped what had been officially declared by act of city leaders “Tad Diesel Day” (Dec. 19) in Norwalk. After accolades from chamber President-CEO Edward Musante Jr. and state Sen. Bob Duff, Diesel took the microphone to say the praise was overwhelming. “I”™ve changed my mind ”” I”™m not going to retire,” he said to laughter and applause.
