More than a hundred business leaders and their friends met June 12 for the annual 40 Under 40 Awards reception at the UConn Stamford campus. Fairfield County Business Journal hosted the event with ConnectiCare serving as supporting sponsor. The master of ceremonies was ConnectiCare President and CEO Mickey Herbert. Author and Mitchells/Richards/Marshs Chairman and CEO Jack Mitchell delivered the keynote address, which was based on his books, “Hug Your Customers” ”“ with almost 200,000 copies sold ”“ and the new “Hug Your People.” “Know your customers and whether they root for the Yankees or, God forbid, the Red Sox,” he told the 40 award winners and an additional 75 in attendance. He advised the same for employees, noting that at his clothing company, as many as eight employees will participate in the hiring of an employee. “It”™s all about personal relationships,” he said.
