(Editor”™s note: Recently, Westfair luxury beauty and travel writer Debbi K. Kickham talked with actress-entrepreneur Jenny McCarthy about her latest venture, Formless Beauty, a line of lip glosses that are vegan and eco-friendly. Here is that interview: )
Why and when did you start Formless Beauty?
“Formless Beauty launched in 2021, but the inception began much earlier.”¯ As someone who is conscious of food ingredients, I began to investigate the ingredients inside of makeup. I was quite shocked to learn that it”™s been 80 years since the FDA (U.S. Food and Drug Administration) had regulated makeup. Basically, the FDA relies on the companies themselves to do their own testing. Considering how much makeup I use, especially in my profession, I knew that if I wanted the highest quality makeup, I might just have to make it myself. So, I worked with chemists and launched Formless Beauty.””¯
”¯Who are the lip glosses geared to — which demographic?
“Our demographic is (ages) 30 to 55, and it”™s geared toward mindful consumers who care about ingredients.”
”¯What makes the lip glosses different?
“Most lip glosses are incredibly sticky ”“ so much so, they become annoying. They also tend to dry out lips and get flaky. Our lip glosses do the opposite. They are incredibly hydrating and 95% of our glowing reviews are about how amazing our non-sticky formula is.””¯
”¯Tell me about your creation of them.
“Creating them was fun and incredibly educational.”¯ Figuring out how to ensure quality without sacrificing the beauty is honestly the hardest part.”¯ But with an amazing team on my side, we have been able to successfully infuse both quality and beauty.””¯
”¯What’s your favorite color?
“That”™s tricky. Depends on my mood. I do love the color Love (baby pink) and the color Majestic (peach), but they are all absolutely gorgeous.”
”¯Do you have more beauty products on the horizon?
“We sure do.”¯ Our next launch will be our first eyeshadow pallet due this spring. I”™m very excited about it. This pallet is called Bronze Beauty.””¯
”¯What’s the best thing about being an entrepreneur?
“The best thing about being an entrepreneur is knowing that you”™re making a difference in the world.”¯ I hope to grow this company into one of the most trusted beauty brands ever made.”
