MaaMa’s World Table: Where Food Becomes Art and Cultures Meet at One Table
7:00 PM to 9:00 PM
February 26, 2026
On February 26 at 7:00 PM, MaaMa Georgian Restaurant (68 Washington Street, Norwalk) invites guests to pull up a seat for something truly special: “MaaMa’s World Table,” a cultural and photographic experience where food, art, and humanity meet.
This is not your typical food photoshoot. Instead, MaaMa’s World Table is a visual art project that turns the dining table into a global gathering place. Through striking photography, women and men from diverse cultural backgrounds come together at one symbolic table—each bringing their story, their roots, and their connection to food.
At its heart, the project celebrates a simple but powerful idea: Food is a universal language. One that crosses borders, softens differences, and reminds us that we have far more in common than we often realize.
Captured through an artistic lens, the images present dishes not just as food, but as emotional, cultural, and deeply human narratives. The project is produced by Akaki Andguladze and Mariam Botchorishvili, photographed by Julia Kuper, with makeup by Medo Grigolia—each collaborator adding their voice to the story.
During the presentation evening, guests will enjoy:
– The official unveiling and first public exhibition of the photographs
– Behind-the-scenes insight into the creative vision, shared by the project’s creators
– A taste of MaaMa’s culinary identity through Chef Andrea’s cuisine
Chef Williams recently captured national attention after winning the televised culinary competition Chef League, which was filmed in the Chef’s Eastern European homeland of Georgia. The restaurant, formerly known as Cheese & Bread, opened in 2024.
MaaMa’s World Table is a reminder that sometimes the most meaningful conversations don’t need words at all—just a shared table.
