Habitat for Humanity of Coastal Fairfield County celebrates the dedication of our 300th home
Habitat for Humanity of Coastal Fairfield County (Habitat CFC) is proud to announce the double dedication of 54 and 56 Clifford Street in Bridgeport. While every Habitat home dedication is momentous and life-changing, this milestone holds special significance as we celebrate our 300th home. To commemorate this milestone, the special ceremony will include the burying of a time capsule on the property with personalized messages from Habitat homeowners and unique items of significance to the organization’s mission.
“The most important thing I hope for… this is going to be a new beginning. I think things will go well for me, truly. My family will have stability,” says Johanna Jose. Learn more about the Jose family, new owners of 54 Clifford Street.
“Owning a home will, without a doubt, help our family,” says Yvelice Almonte. “Now we will be paying for our home, which we never thought we could do.” Learn more about the Santos family, new owners of 56 Clifford Street.
As we mark our 300th home dedication, we would like to express our deepest gratitude to all the builders who make our work possible. A heartfelt thanks goes to our volunteers, donors, sponsors, partner families and public officials who have worked hard together over the past 41 years to help Habitat CFC achieve this milestone.
The public is invited to join for this ceremony where two families will get the keys to their new homes.
After partnering with Habitat CFC, the Jose and Santos families have achieved their dreams of purchasing new, affordable, and energy-efficient homes. The double dedication ceremony will include a special program celebrating our 300th home, 56 Clifford Street. All are welcome; no RSVP required.
Home tours are available at 11 am, program begins at noon. Rain or Shine event.
Parking is not available on Clifford Street. Street parking is available on adjacent streets.
For more than 40 years, Habitat CFC has helped make the dream of homeownership in Coastal Fairfield County attainable for families We build affordable housing and sell homes to families on 30-year mortgages with zero interest. Families contribute “partner equity” by helping build their new homes alongside our committed volunteers in lieu of a down payment. No family pays more than 30% of their income for the mortgage, taxes, insurance and utilities.
By providing 300 families with the stability and self-reliance that decent, affordable housing offers, we have made a measurable positive impact throughout Coastal Fairfield County.
