ACT (A Contemporary Theater) of Connecticut in Ridgefield has added Academy Award-winning Broadway and film composer Alan Menken and Tony Award-winning actor Lindsay Mendez to its Artistic Advisory Board.
Menken has won eight Oscars, more than any other living individual; 11 Grammy Awards, including Song of the Year for “A Whole New World”; and seven Golden Globes. In addition to such Disney films as “The Little Mermaid,” “Aladdin” and “Beauty and the Beast,” his credits include onstage musicals “Newsies,” “Little Shop of Horrors and “Sister Act.” He is currently working with Lin-Manuel Miranda on the new live action version of “The Little Mermaid.”
Mendez won a 2018 Tony for the recent Broadway revival of “Carousel,” and has appeared in onstage musicals “Wicked,” “Godspell” and “Grease.”
Other members of ACT of CT”™s Artistic Advisory Board include Stephen Schwartz, Susan Batten, Christian Borle, Al Blackstone, and Caite Hevner.
