The Northeast Energy Efficiency Partnerships (NEEP) identified Connecticut as a state “Leading the Pack” for its energy efficiency initiatives.
The state was recognized for it’s “aggressive savings goals” and “supportive administration,” among other factors.
In 2011, the state’s programs saved roughly $72 million and 244,000 tons of CO2 emissions, according to Energize Connecticut, Â the state’s central energy organization.
Massachusetts, New York, Rhode Island and Vermont were also named as leaders.
NEEP is a non-profit organization that facilitates regional partnerships to advance the efficient use of energy in homes, buildings and industry in the Northeast.
