Connecticut lost 1,600 net jobs in February, while its unemployment rate rose by 4,500 people to 4.7 percent, according to the latest report by the state Department of Labor.
The February unemployment rate was up from 4.5 percent in January, but was eight-tenths of a point lower than a year ago.
The Labor Department also revised upward its original report of 5,700 jobs gained in January to 6,500 jobs. During the past year, nonagricultural employment in the state grew by 2,100 jobs to 1,682,400.
