The state”™s Mid-Hudson Regional Economic Development Council wants you ”“ and your opinions.
The 31-member council, which includes business, academic, labor and environmental leaders and government officials, has launched an online public survey as it prepares a strategic plan for economic development and proposes projects for state funding in the seven-county mid-Hudson region. Appointed in late July by Gov. Cuomo, the council has a Nov. 14 deadline to submit its regional plan to Albany.
The council wants to hear from the public on which regional issues, opportunities and challenges are considered most critical. The feedback will help guide council members in their deliberations and planning.
The survey asks individuals to:
- Identify the top three challenges unique to the region that adversely affect economic development and can be addressed in a five-year strategic plan.
- Identify the region”™s top three opportunities for economic growth that should be the focus of development efforts over the next five years.
- Identify the top three assets that give the mid-Hudson region the greatest opportunity for economic growth and represent economic advantages over other regions of the state and the U.S.
