McDonald picked as CI chair

Gov. M. Jodi Rell nominated Joan McDonald as chairman of Connecticut Innovations Inc., a state-funded organization in Rocky Hill that makes investments in startups and companies developing energy systems and services.

McDonald has led the state Department of Economic and Community Development since May 2007. This month Rell proposed the state merge Connecticut Innovations with the Connecticut Development Authority and place the combined entity under DECD stewardship.
