Gov. Dannel P. Malloy announced Oct. 5 a draft of a comprehensive energy strategy for Connecticut residents and businesses, aimed at lowering energy costs, protecting the environment and creating 10,000 new jobs.
The Department of Energy and Environmental Protection developed the plan and is now seeking public input.
The draft includes analysis of the state’s current energy use, challenges and opportunities about meeting future needs and recommendations for a cheaper, cleaner and more reliable energy system.
“Our environmental, energy, and economic challenges are all related ”“ and tackling them together offers the best chance to lower the cost of electricity and heat for our families and seniors,” said Malloy in a prepared statement.
A public hearing will be held at the Bridgeport city hall Nov. 14 at 6 p.m.
