The Grand Canyon Association, the official nonprofit partner of Grand Canyon National Park, has appointed Richard Foudy, a Fairfield resident, to its 15-member board of directors, citing his and three other new appointees”™ “professional expertise.”
Foudy”™s business history was in technology and consulting. He became president and CEO of National Decision Systems Inc. in Stamford in 1996 after joining the firm in 1982. He retired after the firm was acquired in 2006, according to a prepared statement from the Grand Canyon Association.
The four new board members were appointed for 2016. The association”™s board is all volunteer.
Board members, according to the statement, come from around the nation and “share a passion and dedication to preserve and protect Grand Canyon National Park for future generations.”
The other new appointees are from Paradise Valley and Flagstaff in Arizona, and from Jacksonville, Fla. One new appointee, Lyle Balenqua from Flagstaff, is a member of the Greasewood Clan of the Hopi Nation.
“These appointments reflect GCA”™s continued commitment to creating a diverse, collaborative board that will effectively lead GCA into the future,” said Susan Schroeder, CEO of the Grand Canyon Association. “Their professional expertise will be invaluable as we grow our capacity to serve the park.”
