Westchester County is gearing up for its annual program that helps low and moderate-income residents obtain federal and state earned income tax credits (EITC).
The popular program has so far helped 6,604 residents receive $7.5 million, according to County Executive Robert Astorino.
Currently, county officials are looking for volunteers to administer assistance. Those volunteers would be put into a training program between Jan. 2nd and April 15 to prepare them. The training sites are in Yonkers, Mount Vernon, Ossining, White Plains and Peekskill.

The Volunteer Center has also included this in our opportunities database. There are 875 current volunteer needs in our area. They range from EITC help to mentoring students, to serving on nonprofit boards, providing hot meals for homebound seniors and everything in between.
