A property that was home to the Barrie House Coffee Company’s coffee roasting facility in Mount Vernon has been sold for $2.8 million. The property at 216 S. 13th Ave. encompassed 13,700 square feet and was one of two Barrie House facilities in Westchester. The buyer was Westside Party Rentals, which is located at 200 S. 13th Ave. and purchased the property for expansion of its operations. Westside says that its inventory includes large party tents, banquet furniture, wedding accessories, restaurant equipment, and numerous other supplies that are needed for events.
Andrew Grossman from Houlihan Lawrence Commercial represented both parties involved in the transaction.

“It was truly a good match for the buyer’s expansion requirements and equally good for the seller to have the flexibility on the time to move,” Grossman said. “I compliment both sides of the table on working well together. Teamwork makes the dream work. This was certainly the case here.”
Barrie House Coffee Company, LLC, had notified the New York State Department of Labor in January that it would be closing its facilities in Mount Vernon and at 4 Warehouse Lane in Elmsford by February 21 as a result of a bankruptcy filing. There were five employees at the Mount Vernon site and 34 employees in Elmsford.
