Plans for developing the site of the famed Concord Resort in Sullivan County continue to move forward.
The town of Thompson approved EPR Properties and Empire Resorts Inc.’s Comprehensive Development Plan and Environmental Review Assessment for the Concord Resort.
The companies will also submit individual site plans for approval.
The project will transform the 1,583 acre site by adding an indoor water park, 18-hole golf course, hotels, an RV Park and an entertainment village with a movie theater and retail stores.
The plans also include residential development with a mix of condominiums, apartments, townhouses, single-family homes and an active adult residential community.
Once completed, it’s estimated the resort will have a $290 million annual economic impact on Thompson and a $395 million annual economic impact on Sullivan County.
