With two AvalonBay developers in house, Spinnaker Real Estate Partners L.L.C. formed a subsidiary to focus on investing in multi-family residential buildings throughout the United States.
Norwalk-based Spinnaker is among Fairfield County’s more prominent development firms, with its projects including The Campus in Stamford, where Chelsea Piers Connecticut opened this summer and where NBC Sports Group plans to relocate its headquarters; as well as The Maritime in Norwalk which includes nearly 200 units of housing. Spinnaker has yet to move forward with its proposed 95/7 mixed-use development along Interstate 95 in Norwalk.
Spinnaker also has a large portfolio of projects in Portland, Oregon.
Spinnaker Residential L.L.C.’s founding partners include Clayton Fowler, Kim Morque, Mark Forlenza and Frank Caico. Forlenza and Caico joined Spinnaker from development positions with AvalonBay Communities.
“The underlying demographics for multi-family rental housing are the best they have been in a generation,” Forlenza said, in a written statement.
