The owner of the iPark Hudson commercial complex in Yonkers will add micro-apartments to its former Otis Elevator Co. property in a $15 million construction project expected to be completed next spring.

Executives of National Resources, the Greenwich-based redeveloper of industrial properties in the region, were joined by Yonkers city officials at a “skybreaking” ceremony on Monday for a four-story addition to Building 2 at iPark Hudson. The converted industrial building will house UNO Micro-Unit Apartments, which will include 100 rental lofts targeted for young professionals.
Tenants will have access to a rooftop deck with views of the Hudson River, multiple common areas and recreational rooms, and a virtual concierge service. The micro-units will have ceilings ranging from 14 feet to 20 feet in height, ample storage and wall-mounted Murphy beds for adaptable space, according to National Resources.
“Once again, developers are realizing that our waterfront is prime real estate for the emerging millennial population in Yonkers and UNO will have that industrial and trendy vibe that so many of our young professionals are seeking,” Yonkers Mayor Mike Spano said in a press release.
Interesting that in an article about “micro-apartments” the only measurements stated in the article are the ceiling heights of 14 – 20 ft.
