In an effort to expand its presence in the Hudson Valley, construction equipment rentals company Durante Rentals LLC recently acquired Carmel-based competitor Quality Rent All, Inc.
The expansion marks the first Putnam County location and the fifth overall for Durante Rentals, which also operates locations in Elmsford and Mount Vernon as well as in Queens and the Bronx.
The price of the purchase was not immediately made available. The facility is located at 333 Route 52.
“It allows us to better serve our valued customers located north of our current Elmsford location,” Durante Rentals CEO Anthony Durante said in a statement. “It is perfectly aligned with our long-term goal of developing emerging market to expand our overall presence.”
According to Durante Rentals’ website, the company offers heaters, welders, forklifts, tools, water pumps and other equipment. The Carmel store is open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Saturday from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m.; and will be closed on Sunday.
Quality Rent All, Inc. was founded by Tim and Marilyn Plummer,  and has operated the Carmel location since 1989. Their nephew Lou Alagno, who has worked for Quality Rent All for 16 years, was promoted to manage the Durante Rentals LLC location. The company offered the rental, sale and service of construction equipment.
