Construction has begun on the Village of Ossining’s $21 million Multi-Modal Transportation Hub. According to Ossining’s Mayor Rika Levin, “The Multi-Modal Transportation Hub will provide for vehicle parking and an e-bike rental facility situated along the Croton Aqueduct Trail. By consolidating parking, adding EV charging stations, and creating e-bike infrastructure, we are paving the way for a more sustainable, connected, and accessible Ossining.”
The hub will provide approximately 240 vehicle parking spaces on the site of the former Brandreth parking lot in the area of Main and Spring Streets. Construction is expected to take about a year.

Levin said that the new facility will allow for the redevelopment of other existing surface parking lots, which might be used for apartments, retail shops and a public plaza. She said that funding to help get the project started included just over $2.2 million from the New York State Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI) and a $1 million grant from Empire State Development.
Among those attending a groundbreaking ceremony to mark the start of construction were Westchester County Executive Ken Jenkins, State Sen. Pete Harckham, County Legislator Emiljana Ulaj, New York Secretary of State Walter Mosley and Marsha Gordon, president and CEO of the Business Council of Westchester.

Gordon, who also is co-chair of the Mid-Hudson Regional Economic Development Council said, “The Ossining Transportation Hub will improve access to the waterfront, support local businesses, and build on the village’s efforts to revitalize its historic downtown and attract new investment to the region. The Mid-Hudson Regional Economic Development Council is proud to support projects like this that strengthen downtowns and help to create vibrant, walkable communities.”
Jenkins said, “This groundbreaking represents exactly the kind of forward-thinking investment Westchester County needs. This is about infrastructure that improves quality of life while strengthening our local economy. Ossining’s new Multi-Modal Transportation Hub will make it easier for residents and visitors to move safely and efficiently, whether by car, bike, e-bike or on foot, while freeing up valuable land for new development and expanded public space.”
According to Mosely, “The groundbreaking of this Multi-Modal Transportation Hub marks a huge step forward for the future of downtown Ossining. This project will enhance walkability and bikeability, support long-term economic growth and infill development downtown, positioning Ossining as a model for community-driven redevelopment across New York state.”
Harckham said, “This investment in Ossining marks another important step toward building more open, accessible, and connected communities across the state. By promoting sustainable transportation options, we’re linking more residents to Ossining’s vibrant downtown and helping spur thoughtful economic growth.”
