The law firms Harris Beach PLLC and Murtha Cullina LLP have launched their new combined firm Harris Beach Murtha, which has more than 250 lawyers working in 16 offices in Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York and the District of Columbia.
The plan to merge was announced last May. Harris Beach had been serving clients through its offices in Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse, Ithaca, Saratoga Springs, Albany, White Plains, Long Island and New York City, as well as New Haven, Washington D.C. and Newark. Murtha Cullina had been operating at offices in Boston, Stamford, New Haven, Hartford, and White Plains.
Chris Jagel will serve as the CEO of Harris Beach Murtha, and Andy Corea, who served as Murtha Cullina’s Managing Partner for four years, will serve on the firm’s Management Committee.
“Harris Beach Murtha unites the strengths of two firms, both deeply embedded in the communities we serve, and extends our capabilities and reach,” Jagel said. “The combination has already created synergies that enhance our ability to deliver exceptional results. We serve our clients and prospective clients with high-quality, tailored and new legal services in more locations, all while preserving our commitment to excellence and the unique culture that sets us apart.”
Corea noted, “In becoming Harris Beach Murtha, our firms will continue their well-known commitment to dedicated client service, not only for our long-term, valued clients, but for potential clients who we can now serve due to an expanded geographic footprint. With our attorneys collaborating across more diverse practice areas, we have already begun delivering cross-disciplinary legal services that better respond to our clients’ expanding needs.”
Among numerous areas of practice for the firm are business litigation, commercial real estate, construction, environment, energy, financial restructuring, government compliance and investigations, health care, immigration, intellectual property, labor and employment, taxes, trusts and estates.
