STAMFORD – Stamford Town Center has added 24 Tesla Supercharger stations at the shopping center’s parking facility.
The new charging hub that opens is one of the largest Tesla Supercharger locations in Connecticut, supporting the rapidly growing electric vehicle community in Fairfield County and beyond.
“This partnership with Tesla represents Stamford Town Center’s commitment to sustainability and forward-thinking amenities for our visitors,” said Dan Stolzenbach, Stamford Town Center general manager. “As electric vehicle adoption continues to accelerate, we’re proud to offer this essential service that not only benefits EV owners but also supports our community’s environmental goals and provides yet another compelling reason to visit our center.”
The V4 Superchargers have the ability to deliver up to 250kW of charging power, enabling compatible Tesla vehicles to recover up to 200 miles of range in just 15 minutes. The strategically located charging stations will be accessible 24/7 on Level 2 of the parking garage, providing convenient access to the shopping center’s retail, entertainment, and dining offerings.
As part of Tesla’s expansion of their Supercharger network in high-traffic, central locations like Stamford Town Center, this hub will be NACS-enabled, which allows other vehicles in compliances with the North American Charging Standard to use the Superchargers, further supporting EV adoption in the area. These new stations will serve both Tesla owners and other EV owners traveling along the I-95 corridor, accelerating the global transition to sustainable energy.
There are more than 70,000 global Superchargers conveniently placed along popular travel routes, located near amenities such as restaurants, shops, restrooms and Wi-Fi hot spots. Each site has multiple Superchargers to get you charged and back on the road quickly. However, for the most part they are not free.
The addition of these Superchargers aligns with Connecticut’s goals for expanding EV infrastructure and reducing carbon emissions. The project includes dedicated electrical infrastructure upgrades to support the high-power charging stations without impacting the center’s existing power systems.
The center’s extended hours ensure that charging is available when needed most.
An official ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held in August to commemorate the opening of the Supercharger station, with representatives from Tesla, Stamford Town Center, and local officials expected to attend.
