DATTCO, one of the state’s largest private transportation companies celebrated 100 years in operation on June 18, prompting Governor Ned Lamont to declare it “DATTCO Day.”
“This proclamation honors DATTCO’s dedication to our communities and state. You cannot be in business for one hundred years without a commitment to values, customers, and community. Here is to another one hundred years of doing business here in Connecticut,” said Ned Lamont.
DATTCO provides charter busses, touring options, shuttle services, and a school bus division that moves over 145,000 children every school day.
The New Britain-based company was founded in 1924 and expanded from a single bus in 1945 to more than 1,200 today.
Don DeVivo, DATTCO President and second-generation owner said, “I think my Dad would have been very proud of us reaching the 100-year milestone. He worked very hard and started with really nothing but one bus. I think we honor his legacy by instilling our corporate mission and values, to support our employees, our customers, and the communities we serve in moving this company forward.”
