SS&C Technologies Holdings Inc., a Windsor, Conn.-based financial services software provider, acquired GlobeOp Financial Services S.A. today for approximately $890 million, or $7.50 a share.
GlobeOp, a British-listed company, provides fund services and integrated risk reporting to hedge funds, asset management firms and other financial industry sectors.
Offering “the most comprehensive and competitive” technology and services portfolios, SS&C Globe Op will be one of the market”™s leading fund service providers, said Bill Stone, SS&C Technologies chairman and CEO, in a press release.
“Together, we are a global leader,” Stone said.
The acquisition is SS&C”™s largest and as a combined entity, the company will service more than 6,700 funds with $424 billion in assets.
Last year the two companies had combined revenues of $635 million and 3,600 employees working in 43 locations in New York, Boston, Chicago, London, Amsterdam, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Sydney, Bangalore and Mumbai.
