Less than two years after acquiring Duracell in its buy of Gillette Co., Procter & Gamble Co. reportedly is considering selling off the battery maker along with several food brands.
Duracell has its main office in Bethel and generates $2 billion in revenue annually.
Procter & Gamble has retained Blackstone Group to investigate a sale of the business, according to a report in the Financial Times which did not disclose the identity of its sources. The companies declined comment in the initial report, which floated Fairfield-based General Electric Co. as one of several potential suitors.
