S&P Dow Jones Indices has announced that it will add Charter Communications Inc. to the S&P 100 Index on Sept. 1.
The Stamford-based telecommunications company, which is part of the S&P 500, is replacing DuPont, which has been acquired by Dow Chemical Co., with the combined company named DowDuPont Inc.
As DuPont disappears and Charter Communications moves up the Standard & Poor rankings, SBA Communications Corp., anowner and operator of wireless communications infrastructure based in in Boca Raton, Florida, will become the newest S&P 500 company. SBA Communications maintains wireless sites across Westchester and Fairfield counties.
