Grand Prix New York is racing to the finish for its grand opening in Mount Kisco in December. The race track, which will take up a portion of the vast warehouse that once served as the distribution center for Grand Union, will provide entertainment for corporate team-building as well as other events.
“We expect to have 60 to 70 percent of our revenue from corporate events and corporate entertainment,” said Yuri Lyalko, general manager and president of Grand Prix New York. He expects to attract a large number of area corporations, which will help build momentum to draw those outside of the area.
Lyalko said he expects to hire 50 to 60 people.
In addition to the track, the 600,000-square-foot property being developed by Diamond Properties will also be home to, “a big variety of businesses, all luxury, as well as corporate services,” said Sy Aryeh, managing member of Grand Prix. “I think it”™s going to be something different here for Mount Kisco.”
The Wine Enthusiast, as well as two sports facilities, are a few of the other businesses that will be sharing the property with the track, which Aryeh believes will help bring visitors to the facility.
“We would like to get somewhere close to 50- to 60,000 total visitors a year and 75 percent of those would come from outside of Westchester,” said Aryeh. “A Fortune 500 company would be our typical customer (as well as) their employees, their customers (and) the people they”™re wooing for business. Not only will they shop with us and spend time with us but they will be exposed to Mount Kisco and the other stores and restaurants and services we have here.”
