Limit Break has become to first non-fungible token (NFT) developer to run an advertisement during this year”™s Super Bowl.
According to a report in the cryptocurrency news site The Block, Limit Break spent $6.5 million to run its 30-second advertisement during the Feb. 12 football game. The advertisement will use an animated princess and a baby dragon promote a “free” NFT tied to DigiDaigaku, the Web3 gaming system the company is currently developing.
Limit Break was backed by the controversial cryptocurrency exchange FTX in a 2022 funding round. FTX had an advertisement in last year”™s Super Bowl featuring comic actor Larry David, but has been in Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings last November while its co-founder Sam Bankman-Fried faces multiple federal charges including wire fraud, commodities fraud and securities fraud.
