Tompkins Mahopac Bank is holding a social media contest to award a combined $6,000 to three local nonprofits. In each round of the “Community Minute Challenge”, six nonprofits will vie for votes by explaining in a one-minute video how they will use the contest”™s winnings.
The public is invited to participate in the contest by casting votes for their favorite video through Tompkins Mahopac Bank”™s Facebook page. The organization that earns the most votes in each of the three rounds will win $2,000.
Voting for the challenge”™s first round will begin May 5 and run through May 19. Competing nonprofits in this round include the LaGrange Association Library, Sparrow’s Nest, Putnam ARC (PARC), Habitat for Humanity Putnam County, YMCA of Central and Northern Westchester and LatinoU.
During the voting period, participants are invited to “like” Tompkins Mahopac Bank”™s Facebook page, click on the Community Minute Challenge app and vote for the nonprofit of their choice.
Individuals may vote once a day.
The second and third rounds will be held in August and October.
