Construction Management Systems of America, a formerly Waterbury-based business with two generations of personal Bridgeport history, is relocating to Bridgeport.
Mayor Bill Finch said in a statement the company is moving “with the intention of helping the city grow and to give back to the Park City.”
A ribbon-cutting was scheduled for Wednesday. There was no word on number of employees involved.
The business is minority-owned, availing it of the city”™s Small & Minority Business Resource Office assistance, which to date has totaled $50 million since its founding in 2008. The resource office”™s building projects include four schools ”“ Black Rock Elementary School, Fairchild Wheeler magnet high school, Roosevelt Elementary School and Longfellow Elementary School ”“ for which 100 of 101 subcontractors are minority- or women-owned businesses.
Construction Management Systems of America”™s new address is 1000 Lafayette Blvd. in Bridgeport.
“My family”™s roots are here in Bridgeport and we are proud to be a part of growing and developing the city,” CMSA President Vernon Austin Jr. said in a statement. “We understand Mayor Finch wants to revitalize Bridgeport, help the inner city community and create new jobs. We want to be partners with him in doing that and to give back to Bridgeport.”
