Hospital”™s Dream Ball celebrates a decade
More than 800 people attended Stamford Hospital”™s 10th annual Dream Ball Gala at Tully Health Center in Stamford. This year, the gala raised more than $700,000, making for a total of more than $5.4 million since its inception. In addition to dinner and dancing, the ball featured a live auction, Giving Tree and Paddle Raise. Next year”™s gala is set for Sat., Nov. 7. Orthodontist”™s Invisalign selected as top 100 case
Fairfield Orthodontic Associates announced that an Invisalign treatment performed by co-owner Patricia A. Bendick, DDS, was selected as a “Top 100” case and will be featured at the 2014 Invisalign National Summit in the 2014 Invisalign Gallery publication. Bendick has completed numerous courses in Invisalign and was one of the first orthodontists in the world certified in Invisalign and Invisalign teen.

Powell appointed CFO for Waveny

Artist”™s exhibit in Hudson City Savings Bank
Roxbury resident Jeanne Steers is exhibiting her “Visage” collection in the Hudson City Savings Bank in Cos Cob through December, 100 E. Putnam Ave. A graduate of Rhode Island School of Design, Steers is the owner of Steers Studios, a design studio specializing in web design, graphic design and illustration.

Westport Country Playhouse awarded $75,000
Westport Country Playhouse was awarded a $75,000 challenge grant from Newman”™s Own Foundation to increase individual donations. The challenge launched Dec. 2 to coincide with #GivingTuesday, a national day of philanthropy, and runs through Dec. 31.

Fiduciary Investment Advisors appoints Salak

Wachter joins Charkit Chemical Corp.
Norwalk-based Charkit Chemical Corp. appointed Lee Wachter senior vice president of operations. Wachter”™s responsibilities include leading all global supply chain operations.
Prior to joining Charkit, he founded Interactive Ingenuity and was interim chief operating officer and chief information officer. He holds a bachelor”™s degree in finance and marketing from Syracuse University and an MBA from Northeastern University.
Dionisio named vice president at Hub International
New York-based Hub International Northeast Limited, with offices in Connecticut, New Jersey and Pennsylvania, appointed Rose Dionisio as vice president of personal lines, based out of its Fairfield office.

Sussman elected fellow of American College of Environmental Lawyers
The American College of Environmental Lawyers (ACOEL) elected Mark R. Sussman a 2014 Fellow. Sussman is an attorney for law firm Murtha Cullina LLP, with offices in Stamford, Hartford and New Haven, as well as Boston and Woburn, Mass.
The ACOEL is an organization of some 200 members nationwide, including six from Connecticut. Sussman was selected based on his experience and standards in environmental law.
