Commercial real estate firm Colliers International snagged two veterans from CBRE Group Inc. to help lead a market expansion into Westchester County and Connecticut.
After 18 years at CBRE — serving in a variety of executive roles in Stamford — Al Gutierrez will join Colliers’ Connecticut operations as executive managing director. Ian Ceppos, who has worked with Gutierrez for the last seven years in various landlord, tenant negotiations, will also join the team as a senior managing director on the brokerage side.
“Al Gutierrez and Ian Ceppos are accomplished negotiators with an in-depth knowledge of the Westchester and Fairfield county markets,” said Joseph Harbert, president of Colliers eastern region, in a press release. “Their solid and dynamic partnership will help us to further strengthen our suburban market team, focused on Westchester and Fairfield counties, and increase market share.”
The two men have been behind transactions totaling more than 5 million square feet for companies such as SL Green, Forest City Ratner, Scarsdale Medical Group, Northwestern Mutual, Alliance Bernstein, The Jones Group, Morgan Stanley, National Economic Research Associates Inc. and Smith Barney.
Gutierrez and Ceppos also secured 1111 Westchester Ave. for PepsiCo Inc. and more than 200,000 square feet of medical and health care related leases. The Colliers expansion into the region will have a heavy emphasis on health care facilities, officials say.
A global leader in commercial real estate, Colliers employs more than 13,500 professions in 62 countries. In a recent survey the company ranked as the second-most recognized commercial real estate firm in the world.
