DeCicco Family Markets has opened its ninth gourmet grocery store in the Hudson Valley region at 7 Halstead Ave. in Harrison. The 13,000-square-foot store was occupied for 25 years by Food City, which closed its doors in early June.
The DeCicco grocery chain is a second-generation family business. Started in 1972 in the Bronx, the company also operates Westchester County stores in Ardsley, Bronxville, Cross River, Jefferson Valley, Pelham and Scarsdale. An Armonk store is currently being built. The company also has opened stores in Brewster in Putnam County and in New City in Rockland County.
