A private equity company is acquiring Parfums de Coeur Ltd., which calls itself the largest provider of mass-market fragrances with brands including Body Fantasies, Designer Imposters, and BOD Man.
Yellow Wood Partners L.L.C. did not say what it paid for Darien-based Parfums de Coeur, which was founded in 1981 and whose management also reinvested in the company.
It was the first announced acquisition from Yellow Wood”™s $225 million debut fund, with the company”™s cofounders including Peter Mann, the former CEO of Prestige Brands Holdings Inc. of Irvington, N.Y., and other former executives there. Yellow Wood has offices in Irvington and Boston.
