Cablevision agreed to carry the NFL Network and the NFL RedZone channel on its system, with the Bethpage, N.Y.-based company among the dominant cable providers in lower Fairfield County and in Westchester.
The NFL Network will make its debut in Cablevision homes beginning Friday, Aug. 17 on channel 150 in both standard and high definition for customers who subscribe to iO Preferred, iO Silver, iO Gold or the iO Sports & Entertainment Pak.
NFL RedZone, which airs on Sundays throughout the regular season, will be offered in both standard definition and HD on channel 151 as part of the iO Sports & Entertainment Pak, which is now included in the new iO Gold package that was launched last spring.
NFL Network is the home of Thursday Night Football, which will broadcast 13 primetime NFL regular season games from September through December.
NBC Sports Group broadcasts Football Night in America on Sunday nights, with plans to relocate the show’s studios to its new Stamford headquarters, which are still under construction, in time for the 2013 season. Bristol-based ESPN airs Monday Night Football.
