Saint Vincent’s among best for heart attacks

Saint Vincent”™s Medical Center numbers among the 17 best hospitals in the nation in survival rates for patients experiencing heart attacks, a new federal study shows.
The Bridgeport hospital and Hartford Hospital were the only two institutions in Connecticut to exceed the national rate as determined by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, which calculated mortality rates from 4,500 hospitals. New York Presbyterian Hospital also numbered among the top 17 for heart-attack survival.
