A business tax policy task force holds a public hearing April 9, following its formation by Gov. Dannel P. Malloy to study the impact of Connecticut taxes and credits on jobs and overall revenue.
The hearing will take place from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the State Capitol building in Hartford.
The task force will hear testimony from invited speakers on up to three state business taxes, including tax benefits, which could improve tax policy and economic development policy without destabilizing state finances. Written testimony may also be submitted.
The task force”™s final meeting will be in late September, when the group will submit recommendations to Malloy.
Task force members include Chris Bruhl, CEO of the Business Council of Fairfield County in Stamford.
Through February for the fiscal year ending this June, Connecticut Department of Revenue Services tax collections were running 19 percent above their levels compared to a year prior, with income tax revenue up by a slightly higher margin, and corporate tax collections up nearly 12 percent.
