On Oct. 18 more than 150 guests attended “A Luminous Future Gala” at the Lockwood-Mathews Mansion Museum (LMMM) in Norwalk, Connecticut, and were greeted by LMMM Chairman of the Board Douglas Hempstead, event co-chair with Trustee Kathy Olsen, Executive Director Susan Gilgore, members of the gala committee and gala volunteers
Bob Duff, Connecticut Senate majority leader: Norwalk Mayor Harry Rilling: and LMMM Vice Chairman Patsy Brescia were awarded the “LMMM Luminous Future Award” for their invaluable efforts in supporting the $18 million mechanical upgrades.
The event featured a preview of the new exhibition, “Striking Gold: Artists on Wealth and Worth” in collaboration with The Artists Collective of Westport curated by artist/designer and LMMM Trustee Gail Ingis, and the ongoing exhibition, “Bulls of Wall Street: High Finance, Power & Social Change in Victorian America,” curated by Museum Consultant Stacey Danielson.
The Silent Auction and the Live Auction, which was led by LMMM Trustee and MC Lawrence Cafero, raised more than $130,000 for its cultural and educational programs as well as its newly built Archive.
